Felicitas “Tita” Radaic and Alice Reyes, National Artist for Dance
Philippine dance would not be as vibrant or as diverse as it is today without the efforts of these two women. One set the bar (or barre) for classical ballet technique, the other developed the practice of modern dance in the country, and both demanded an exacting standard of excellence from their dancers.
We pay tribute to these legends who have shaped Filipino dance and dancers. We look back at their extraordinary lives with awe and admiration, as we continue to reap and further develop the fruits of their efforts.
